Band &

The music department at Callaway Public Schools tries to offer a number of different music experiences for students. The elementary begin with classroom music that includes hand instruments, recorders and yearly musicals and concerts. Also, band for elementary students is offered in the fifth and sixth grades. In Jr. High the music period does a musical every other year, plays pep band and concert band, and sings in two concerts a year. In High School we try to expand the music student's experience by not only having a choir and band, but they also are encouraged to participate in pep band, swing choir, jazz band and to compete in Districts, try out for Honor choirs and bands, and audition for All State. Our goal is to help students experience music in as many ways as possible.
