ART
club

Callaway Art Club is a great way for High School students to be more involved in art throughout the year. The main focus of the Art Club is to build upon students' knowledge, skills and creativity through art. Art club also allows more opportunities and freedom to try new mediums and style of art. Activities may include participating in school events, school and community beautification projects, contests, exhibitions, studio nights, and field trips. Art club serves as a nice supplement for students who can’t get enough art. Meetings are held over the noon hour.

  • MNAC Art Show

Callaway Junior high and high school art students once again participated in the annual conference art show.  The show was held January 31 at the Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte.  This year was our turn to host.   Since combining conferences the new MNAC consists of 16 schools. With the larger number of schools participating in the art show we had to limit entries.  Each student was able to bring up to 3 entries each.  This made for an extremely strong and completive show.  I was very proud to see us came home with a handful awards.

    Jr High
    Printmaking
    Dane Rynearson - 4th Place
    Kalen Dockweiler - Honorable Mention

    High School
    Mixed Media
    Emily Kimball – 5Th Place
    Hallie Conroy - Honorable Mention

    Acrylic/Oil
Keeley Withuhn Callaway - Honorable Mention
    Vayle Berger-Callaway - Honorable Mention
    Emily Kimball - Honorable Mention

    Three-Dimensional
    Olivia Paulsen - Honorable Mention

I was very impressed of my student’s work and am excited to see how we perform next year.  Next year’s conference art show will be held in Broken Bow.

  • A Face Lift for the Cafeteria

This years Art Club decided after much discussion that it was time for the cafeteria to get a face lift. The members took on the task of repainting it with new school colors.
