2014 Football Thoughts From Coach
Bobcat football is in its 5th year. We have enjoyed a successful 4 years, qualifying for the Nebraska State Playoffs in each year. During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, we reached the quarterfinal round of the playoffs and finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the state. The 2014 season comes with many unknowns. We return 4 starters from last years team but only one of those is a returning offensive/defensive lineman. We will be a young team with only 5 seniors, so our younger players will need to step up and be ready for varsity football. Our offensive and defensive backfield will be the strength of our team. Isaak Cole, Layton Dockweiler, Lafeyette Loper, and Chase Forrester will be looked upon to provide leadership throughout the season.
Once again we bring back our entire coaching staff from the previous year which provides stability for our program. Mat Jageler is our defensive coordinator. His hard work in preparation for the next opponent puts us a step ahead come game time. Abe Hinman is our quarterbacks/defensive backs coach and offensive coordinator. His detailed approach helps our players prepare for any situation. Mike Weverka is our offensive line/linebacker coach and the special teams coordinator. He brings an unending supply of enthusiasm and excitement to our team.
